Puppies - the power of ignoring and patience.

In this video I am asking Nelly to do a down wait. Nelly was getting very excited and this is all new for her. Rather than getting frustrated and constantly correcting her instead, when she started getting all excited and silly I simply waited and ignored this behaviour and then as you will see, she eventually twigged and decided to lay down and wait of her own accord because that's what would get her the attention she wanted. Puppies LOVE attention and when they get all excited like this and you continue to tell them off, they are still getting attention and will continue jumping up and nipping. By removing all the attention and simply ignoring her she quickly figured out her behaviour won't get her any attention at all but being calm gets her loads of attention. 🐶
